My research group studies biodiversity in our changing world. We are discovering new biodiversity patterns in seagrass meadows in Canada, deepening our understanding of how biodiversity benefits humans and how human activities can benefit biodiversity. We are advancing a general understanding of how ecological systems grow and change in a warming world. We seek to build bridges between different scientific theories and approaches to understanding ecological change, and applying that understanding to sustainability and human wellbeing. We strive for inclusive, collaborative and creative scholarship.
